If we read the newspaper headlines in our country, one "naively" deduces the great corruption that exists outside our borders: corrupt US Supreme Court judges, former French President convicted of corruption, etc. These are examples of the last days that our newspapers strive in showing us But being a little more insightful than the expected average number of readers to whom it is addressed. Is that in Spain there are no corrupt Supreme Court judges? Are there not corrupt ex-presidents? The answer is obvious and the reason why we do not know what is happening at our borders is even more grotesque, our political-institutional-information system is incapable of judging-reporting it
That is why you have to read between the lines of the news that our newspapers leak to us to understand that what is out there is a justice-complaint system "that works" against this type of irregular behavior. It is healthy envy that is felt discovering that if it is "outside" where they are able to identify and judge their own corrupt. The lack of investigation of our newspapers towards their "own" dirty laundry is the evident demonstration of how captive or collusive the press is in our environment. We have consulted the international press associations as to why in Spain there is no detained-fined journalist and their response is that "in Spain there is no corruption." We must be a country of "donkeys" when after 40 years in which the constitution has been bossed around by a group of gentlemen, the people still do not know. That the anti-corruption prosecutor's office or that no media outlets echo it demonstrates the poor freedom and the rule of law that we enjoy. It goes without saying that the "bring out of ignorance " process is a slow process... But we are working on it ;-)
