"..In our constitutional and democratic Spain you have been able to see that ancestry and history entail, above all, obligation and commitment; and that PRIVILEGE can only be understood as honor and service to others" is the message transmitted by H.M. King Felipe VI on April 19, 2023 in Ronda (Málaga) Although it is fresh air to hear these words, they "squeak" in a country where our judges "maintain" illegal appraisals (privileges) for 40 years It goes without saying that the The "human" condition of our judges is not worthy of them, proof of this is that there are complaints against many of them for having money in tax havens
We have asked H.M. King Felipe VI and the association that coordinates the "Princess of Asturias" awards that includes the category "DEFENSE OF THE RULE OF LAW" in order to see if one day we can see that a magistrate is elected. Note that to date no one has denounced the appraisals despite the fact that article 35.1 of the Organic Law of the Constitutional Court obliges them to do so, it goes without saying that these privileges contradict article 14 of our Magna Carta. It should be understood that it is indisputable that "nobody" (of an earthly nature) deserves differential treatment before the Law.
We transcribe here the complete speech of HM King Felipe VI (Round 4-19-2023):
Allow me to begin my words by pointing out that this is my first visit to Ronda, the capital of the mountain range that bears his name and where the fusion between city and nature takes place in such a special way. Ronda is located in one of the most beautiful areas with the most personality in Spain: the Genal and Guadiaro valleys, the Sierra de las Nieves, the Neolithic caves of La Pileta and El Gato or the Roman city of Acinipo, treasure not only that great beauty, but an ancient culture.
Ronda has been, in Rilke's expression, the "dream city" of travelers since the beginning of the s. XIX: always attracted foreigners to settle and make it their own, something that is perfectly understandable with just one visit to this city. Poets and painters portrayed it for two centuries, they lived it, expressed it and shared it through their imagination and their art.
And after such a description, of so many that he collects and deserves; After my first impressions today, one wonders why I didn't come sooner. Although I was in the region a long time ago and I have enjoyed it from the air. But today, in addition to visiting you, here, in this wonder of the Maestranza to celebrate this important anniversary, to congratulate you and honor your historical legacy, as well as to encourage your present efforts, I have no doubt that I will soon return to this unique corner of Spain. . There is also a famous “camito” nearby, called “del Rey”, which I want to visit.
Well, to this Royal Maestranza, such an emblematic institution of Ronda, I am especially grateful for its welcome on this first visit and for also serving today as host of this pleasant meeting with the 5 Royal Maestranzas of Cavalry —Ronda, Seville, Granada, Valencia and Zaragoza, always so linked to the Monarchy and also to the history and present of the cities where they were founded and which today host them. I am very happy that a few years after that 1st meeting at the Maestranza in Seville (2015), we are doing it again and celebrating with Ronda nothing less than its 450 years.
Throughout the centuries, the Maestranzas have contributed to the well-being of its inhabitants, from an original noble and military conception, to what today are its most social and welfare activities: cultural, educational, outreach and research. You have also cultivated the best knowledge of our traditions and principles, and you have dedicated yourself with great effort to the conservation of a valuable tangible and intangible heritage that contributes notably to the richness of the common heritage of all Spaniards.
Dear Masters (Knights and Ladies),
You have been an example of loyalty to the Crown and service to Spain, showing a great ability to adapt to the different historical stages. And precisely because of that exemplary loyalty that you have shown, I know that you will continue to comply with the spirit of renewal that I ask for and defend, and that I have shared with you on previous occasions: a spirit in line with our constitutional principles, with the search for excellence, merit as a reference, with the incorporation of women and with the new ways of serving our society that current times demand, from society itself.
I know that you fulfill the mandate, as stated in your ordinances, to identify and print that merit, that excellence and the will to serve Spain and the Crown in those who aspire to become Master Ladies and Gentlemen —not only taking into account their ancestry. I want to ask you to continue with this commitment: because incorporating the best is the foundation and lifeblood of any institution, and in this continuous work of construction you must continue to be tireless; service to society and your own responsibility demand it of you.
"...congratulations and congratulations to the Maestranza de Ronda and thank you for preparing this day with love and care. I hope that all of you, dear Master Ladies and Gentlemen, of the five Maestranzas, continue with this effort of evolution, renewal and modernity from which no one, neither institutionally nor personally, can be alien. Being faithful to tradition and history, but also with the legitimate ambition of being a vanguard in service to society. Always at the service of Spain in an exemplary manner..."
You are active and beneficial institutions for society in this s. XXI. It takes strength, ability, competence and good judgment to survive for centuries and be useful in each one of them.
In our constitutional and democratic Spain, you have been able to see that ancestry and history entail, above all, obligation and commitment; and that privilege can only be understood as honor and service to others. Influencing and contributing to improving our environment, with the unstoppable evolution imposed by new technologies, requires the best knowledge of the society in which we live. It also requires to be
Hence the enormous value of fulfilling your social function after having emerged in such distant times and with ordinances that are centuries old. For this reason, I suggest that you abide by the spirit that emerges from its reading, without the zeal for its strict compliance making you lose sight of the global panorama —as challenging as it is stimulating— that you have before you. That we all have before us. I am sincerely glad to see how you know how to renew your principles without any loss; and in that effort you can always count on the Crown.
Dear Master Ladies and Gentlemen,
As the Big Brother of this Corporation, I want to congratulate my Maestranza de Ronda, not only for reaching 450 years of history, but for having known how to maintain its projection in a society in continuous evolution. With it, with society, the institution itself has also been transformed, reaching our days being highly valued and recognized in the academic, historiographical and equestrian world.
I know of the care and demand that you apply to your work in this Center for Studies of the Nobility, which shows that, today, the success of an activity is independent of the place where it is carried out. I also know of the successes of your riders, who carry the name of Ronda throughout Spain.
In the same way, the cultural programming that you design and carry out is a sign of your interest in expanding the cultural horizon of society, by bringing it closer to activities that contribute to enriching the spirit through education, training and culture. , true pillars of social and personal development. The museums of this institution also contribute to raising the tourist interest of the city and the Serranía, and thus enhance their relevance in socioeconomic terms.
I finish my words. Congratulations and congratulations to the Maestranza de Ronda and thank you for preparing this day with love and care. I wish all of you, dear Maestrant Ladies and Gentlemen, of the five Maestranzas, to continue with this effort of evolution, renewal and modernity from which no one, neither institutionally nor personally, can be oblivious. Being faithful to tradition and history, but also with the legitimate ambition of being a vanguard in service to society. Always at the service of Spain in an exemplary way.
I thank you, once again, all the Royal Maestranzas for your loyalty, invariable over time. Loyalty that, as Alfonso X the Wise said, "is something that directs men in all their deeds, so that they always do the best."
Thank you so much.
